Advice for the unemployed

This information was taken from a LinkedIn group that I belong to - Technology Leaders Association. The following information is from George Moraetes -

These are the 4 pieces of advise I provide to those unemployed and welcoming others to add their motivational wisdom:

1.) Have a very short grieving period no longer than 24 hours. Your former job is dead bury it and get to work on your future. Let go of the past or be dragged!

2.) Don't throw yourself or anybody else who would listen a "pity party." Forget about "what could have been" and concentrate on "what can be" going forward.

3.) Don't waste precious time and energy blaming, being angry or hating. Robert Ingersoll once said, "Anger is the wind that blows out the lamp of the mind." Now is the time to utilize all of your available resources, and focus on your next productive move, toward your better future.

4.) I CANNOT emphasize this one more: "Put your ego & pride aside" and ask for help! Not because your weak, embarrassed and afraid but because you want to remain strong! Ask for help and don't stop until you get it! From the Bible, Mathew 7:7 the Lord said: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

Finally, I wish Mark Cummuta all the best in his new role in the Washington, DC area and we will miss you in Chicago! You are and continually be an enormous asset in anybody's organization!
