I attended a small regional security conference yesterday - the Houston SecureWorld expo. The opening keynote speaker was Dr. Whitfield Diffie, chief security officer of Sun Microsystems and co-creator of the Diffie-Hellman key exchange (think cryptography).
He is a very smart man and that's the reason my brother-in-law Chris and I attended what was otherwise a lackluster conference. The take away from this keynote is that cloud computing is fundamentally changing IT. It has to do with a sea change from the physical location of the systems to those same systems being virtual and located off premise (in the cloud).
