The Chinese in Lebanon……….

The Chinese in Lebanon……….

Here is my idea to stop the fighting in southern Lebanon, send in the Chinese under the U.N. banner. I know, I know, it sounds weird, but hear me out.

Send in a division (maybe 10,000 personnel) of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) to maintain a buffer zone in southern Lebanon. The Chinese could keep Hezbella from attacking Israel and stop any IDF incursions into southern Lebanon. Now on the surface, it would seem the Chinese would favor the Lebanese. Why? Because they want to curry favor with the Arab world. China needs unfettered access to the oil reserves in the Middle East if it is to keep its economy expanding. But saving face is also very important to China. And if they are perceived not to have done a good job in maintaining peace in southern Lebanon, then they would loose face. So their incentive is to maintain the peace and operate as a stabilizing force within the region. If they do well in southern Lebanon, whey not put them between the Palestinians and the Israelis? The Chinese will be seen as peacemakers in a region of the World not known for it plus their clout within the Arab world will increase exponentially. And the Chinese could do all of this under the banner of the United Nations.

Interesting……………….
