ITEC 6323 | ITEC 6324 Security entry for the week of December 5, 2005

This particular post has to do with the INFOSEC Assessment that ITEC 6324 is performing for World Wide Tools, Inc.

There is an article from eWeek regarding System Lockdown. System Lockdown has many aspects including limited user rights, group policy, a patching framework, a software distribution framework, anti-virus, a desktop firewall, and scan & quarantine with remediation for remote users.

This concept will help in a numbers of areas affecting WWT including system configuration with particular emphasis on the new laptops being rolled out as part of Perfect Orders and remote users (again the laptops and how the sales people will access the network). Very good article.
